by Reese Sterling Alexander
My bedroom never belonged in the barn & yet
I think I was born there: wordless and closest
To the opened eye of a horse. I don’t create
The horrors in front of me but I think I was born there.
Put paper and pen in front of me, I’m just a child. I cry
I yell I stay where I’m placed I die
when they cannot see me as good
