by Francesca Leader
I can imagine, when we are very old, a peaceful
abandonment of boundaries; a sliding
together, like two stones that are done being stones,
ready to meld
back into sand. I hold this thought.
That we will hold the tension of separation
until it breaks.
That when it is over,
I finally will know you.
