by Sam Robinson
It would be better for the poets if we could move all Americans
away from the ocean to the heartlands, flattening all
piled coastal settlements in festivals of cleansing sacrifice.
The unobstructed views will give new life to the artform,
seeing mountains and oceans not through windows, but in the flesh.
