Blue Sonata

by Anne Gerard

You seduced our kidnappers and I was furious
With itself like a true feeling

Clearly the song will have to wait
Sunlight making petals obsolete absolutely so

Your best flirtations fall before an audience
Of blueberries, marigolds and children

The desire meant to hover between
How to get a sufficient response from a hill

When Daisy changed her name to Matilda
Getting all bothered by the plans

Thank goodness somebody is ready to be prolific
Anyways come back to the converted study

Where we built that semi-removable door
Our landlady left us chocolates
